Global Country Detail

These databases contain data from mostly private sources who conduct surveys providing supplemental economic, environmental, social and governance statistics.

Country Surveys (INTSRVYS)

Brings together many of the most closely followed consumer and business surveys that are found in our advanced economies databases. These surveys are conducted by a broad range of private and public organizations and include headline PMI series from Markit Economics, Manpower Employment Outlook, the EC’s Business & Consumer Survey, the Japanese Tankan, the Ifo and ZEW in Germany, the BCC and CBI in the UK, and the INSEE Household Survey in France.

Environmental, Social & Governance Indicators (ESG)

Focuses on broad environmental, social and governance indicators from annual reports that cover most countries and are compiled by a variety of international organizations. They include the UNDP Human Development Report, the Corruption Perceptions Indexes from Transparency International, the Economic Freedom Index from the Fraser Institute, the Chinn-Ito Index (KAOPEN), the Ease of Doing Business dataset from the World Bank and Yale University’s Environmental Performance Index.

Purchasing Managers Surveys by S&P Global (MKTPMI, PMIGL, PMIEU, PMIASIA, PMIUS)

Monthly purchasing managers surveys for 26 countries plus the euro area and the World conducted by associations of purchasing managers within each country under the supervision of S&P Global. Includes manufacturing, services and construction surveys starting in 1992. Also includes monthly GDP and productivity indexes for selected countries. PMI sector databases are available for the World, the EU, Asia and the U.S.

United Kingdom Surveys by S&P Global (UKSRVYS)

Covers the Report on Jobs survey compiled by S&P Global and includes recruitment activity, wages and salaries, and availability and demand for staff for the U.K and by region.

United Kingdom Halifax Housing Prices (UKHPI)

The Markit Halifax House Price Indexes are based on Halifax mortgage transaction data and administered by S&P Global. They are available quarterly for all 12 regions of the UK and cover existing homes, first-time buyers, former- owner occupiers and all houses all buyers.

Fiber Business Cycle Indicators (FIBER)

Monthly leading and coincident indexes for 16 countries from the Foundation of International Business and Economic Research (FIBER). Also includes comparable country aggregate indexes. These cyclical indicators are based on the unique methodology developed in a long series of studies that first originated at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) to identify turning and inflection points in the economy.

Recruit Residential Prices for Japan (RRPI)

Features monthly data on Japan’s residential price indexes dating back to July 1990 sourced from Recruit Co. Ltd. in Japan. Contains sales figures for apartments and detached houses, as well as rentals of apartments and condominiums categorized by dwelling size (studio apartments, couple-sized apartments, family-sized apartments, and luxury condominiums). Regional data are available by prefectures, districts, cities, and areas along subway lines with measurements in 10,000 yen per square meter, or 3-month moving average indexes.
